Instructor Rating

• Prerequisite: Hold a Commercial Pilots Licence (CPL) or Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL)

• 25 hours of Instructor Rating ground school instruction, reduced to 15 hours if the candidate holds an ATPL.

• 30 hours of flight training including 5 hours of instrument training, reduced to 20 hours if the candidate holds an ATPL.

• Successfully complete and pass a written and flight examination.

• 200 hours total time and 20 hours instrument time.

• Ground school may begin after after successfully completing the written examination and flight test for the Commercial Pilot License

Note: Flight training times are based on Transport Canada minimums, more training may be required.
