Recreation Pilot Licence

    • Must be 14 years of age to obtain a Student Pilot Permit, 16 years of age to apply for the Recreational Pilot Permit.

    • Possess prior to solo a category 4, 3 or 1 medical certificate.

    • Must successfully complete and pass a written examination and a flight test.

    • Complete a minimum of 25 hours total flight time, consisting of a minimum of 15 hours dual and a minimum of 5 hours solo.

    • Candidates should but are not required to complete a minimum of 40 hours of ground school instruction.

    • 45 Hours online Ground School by 3 rd party approximate cost 310.00

    • Flight training materials $320.00

    • 15 Hours Dual Flight Training - Cessna 172 @ $330/hour $4,950.00

    • 10 Hours Solo Flight Training - Cessna 172 @ $245/hour $2,450.00

    • 15 Hours Preparatory Ground Instruction/Flight Briefings @ $85/hour $1,275.00

    • Licensing and Exam Fees (estimate) $800.00
